Watermark partnered with the State of Alabama on the design of Five Rivers, Alabama’s Delta Resource Center. This public complex, which sits on 81-acres in the Mobile-Tensaw Delta, is a federally designated National Natural Landmark. Our design appreciates the location’s coastal resources, as it did the state’s financial resources. Watermark helped the state with considerable cost savings through the design of buildings, grounds and utilities requirements, through energy management and with our choice of naturalized construction materials.
Today, an orientation center, reception space, floating canoe and kayak landing, 90-seat surround-sound theater, gift store, walking trails and picnic shelters welcome guests.
Our sister company, Thompson Engineering, also contributed to this project with permitting, geotechnical engineering and construction inspection.
