Vigor

Students who attend Vigor High School in Mobile, Alabama attend class at the same site where students have been attending class since 1946. But a lot has changed since then, especially since a $6 million design and renovation project completed in 2007.

Watermark Design Group was selected by the Mobile County Public School System to provide design and construction administration services for a 74,000 square foot addition consisting of 40 new classrooms, a media center and a new administration wing with a new entrance and canopy for bus drop-off. In addition to the new construction, the existing administration area was renovated for additional classrooms; the existing computer laboratory was demolished; and a new lobby and vending area was constructed adjacent to the cafeteria. The renovated facility was designed to meet current life safety standards to include a new fire alarm system, intercom system and fire sprinkler system.
