Pass Christian Harbor Master Building

As part of major efforts to double the size of the City of Pass Christian, Miss. harbor, Watermark was tasked with the design of a 1,300 square foot, elevated, Harbor Master building. The new construction overlooks 250 new boat slips, and complements two neighboring buildings. Watermark’s sister company, Thompson Engineering took the lead on the harbor expansion, and is responsible for the conceptual design, final design and construction services of all components of the harbor expansion, including structural design for the Harbor Master building.  The Harbor Master building is designed to the most stringent flood and wind design guidelines for coastal hurricane zones, and is elevated well above ground level on concrete pilings and columns.  Exterior walls are concrete block covered with Hardi-board siding and impact-rated windows. The building features a pitched metal standing seam roof to blend with other harbor buildings. The oversized roof covers a walk-around cantilevered porch around the entire perimeter to give the Harbor Agent a 360-degree-view of the harbor.
