Gilliard

The Mobile County Public School System selected Watermark Design Group to design a new elementary school, as well as plan for future construction at the site. Gilliard Elementary, an 85,500 square foot building, houses 850 students. Watermark’s design includes room for school administration, a media room, 150 classrooms in separate wings, restrooms, a cafeteria and kitchen, and three parking areas to accommodate 150 vehicles. Watermark also designed the school’s gymnasium, a 9,200 square foot building with a basketball court, raised stage, storage room and physical education equipment room, office, mechanical room, snack room and girls and boys restrooms. Watermark also completed the design for a future baseball and soccer field on site. Doors to the new school opened in April 2006.
